Kendra Rickerby earned her PhD in Educational Leadership from Lesley University in 2017, focusing on competency-based grading systems and flexible pathways to graduation. She brings 20+ years of combined experience in PreK-16 curriculum and instructional design, school administration, education policy research, data analysis focusing on education funding models, and teaching the research and writing process. Kendra has taught at a variety of secondary and post-secondary schools. She has designed and delivered courses such as Social Entrepreneurial Leadership, Organizations and Positive Social Change, and Trauma-Informed Instructional Design. She enjoys engaging students in performance-based assessments at the secondary level, teaching critical thinking and problem-solving, and making place-based historical connections. Kendra’s dissertation has been published, and she has been asked to make presentations on competency-based and equitable systems design. She is currently researching generative AI’s role in strengthening individuals’ capacity for deeper learning and communication.
